About Player Housing

Acquire your house

Upon logging in, players will automatically be offered the introductory questline, which will guide them through purchasing and decorating their home.

        A House for You

        My First Home

        Welcome Home

        Time to Decorate

You will be able to purchase a total of two homes for your Warband, one in the Alliance neighborhood and one in the Horde neighborhood. These houses must be purchased by a character of the matching faction; however, any character in your Warband will be able to visit these houses, regardless of faction.

Visiting your house

Characters whose faction aligns with their neighborhood will be able to use the neighborhood portals found in Stormwind and Orgimmar's portal rooms. For the Horde the neighborhood is located in Razorwind Shores, where the Alliance neighborhood is located at Founder's Point. Alternatively, the new Housing Dashboard found on the menu bar features a hearthstone that will teleport players to their plot, on a 15-minute cooldown.

Housing dashboard

The Housing Dashboard is a new interface that players will be able to access through the menu bar. This dashboard allows you to view your current Neighborhood Favor, view active Endeavors in your neighborhood, teleport to your houses, and view available plots. The Housing Dashboard also serves as a Decor Item catalog, allowing you to search through and preview all currently available Decor Items.

Moving your house

Houses can be easily moved by finding a new available plot within their neighborhood, clicking on the cornerstone, and selecting 'Buy'. This will pack up your house and instantly move it to the new plot. The interior and exterior of your house will not be changed during the move.

While the initial cost of a house is 1,000   , moving your home is currently completely free.

Neighborhoods

Player housing is designed on a fundamentally social level, as a way to encourage player interaction. As a result, houses will be zoned in communal neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has 50 house plots and will allow you to visit other players' houses and participate in group events to earn new Decor items. There will be two available neighborhoods at launch: Founder's Point for Alliance and Razorwind Shores for Horde. Players will also be able to choose between a Public neighborhood and a Private neighborhood.

Public neighborhoods

Players can choose to settle in public neighborhoods, which are maintained by servers and not players, lumping random players together as neighbors.

Private neighborhoods

Private neighborhoods are created by smaller groups which have control over membership. These are created for groups such as friends or guilds.

Endeavors in the neighborhoods

Endeavors are Neighborhood-exclusive activities introduced with Player Housing in World of Warcraft: Midnight. These new events, featuring size-scaling capabilities to accommodate larger or smaller (or more and less active) Neighborhoods, allow players to work together towards a common goal affecting the entire Neighborhood. Players will earn both a new currency to spend on rewards, as well as work towards a new type of Renown for their Neighborhood and Player Homes.

These Endeavor events happen on approximately a monthly basis. At times, set Endeavors that reflect situations happening in the greater world of Azeroth will become active, giving players a window into the lore of current events, as well as linking to gameplay in the greater World of Warcraft.

For Public Neighborhoods, Endeavors are set by the server. For Private Neighborhoods, a designated "Neighborhood Manager" will be able to pick which Endeavors will be active from month to month. The exception is a Priority Endeavor, which will be pushed to every Neighborhood. Priority Endeavors will be related to current in-game events, be it, for example, expansion-related, relevant story, or a holiday.

Neighborhood favor

Neighborhood Favor is a new system similar to the existing Renown and Reputation systems, allowing players to "level up" within their Neighborhoods. As players gain ranks within the Neighborhood Favor system, they will unlock new upgrades for their Player Homes, as well as various rewards, such as new decorations.
